| Children's Religious Education |
2007-2008 Registrations
The 2006-2007 religious education program
is finished for this year. Registration for the
2007-2008 RE program will be done in the
following way. Parents with children
currently enrolled in the RE program will receive a letter
by mail with the registration form and the schedule for
the year. This letter will be mailed out in July. Those
parents enrolling children in classes for the first time need
to contact Abraham at the parish rectory (303-364-7435)
during the months of July or August.

| Children's Liturgy of the Word |
| Twice a month, at the 9:00 a.m. Mass, immediately after the
entrance procession, all elementary school age children are invited by the
priest to proceed to the Family Life Center. There they celebrate the Liturgy
of the Word (the first half of Mass) with their own presider. The opening
prayers, penitential rite, readings, prayers and homily are done at their own
level. Before the Offertory, the children return to the church to join their
families for the rest of Mass. This is not a learning experience, but a worship
experience. It enables children to enter into the celebration of Mass more
completely.

| Children's Religious Education Ministry |
| The Religious Education ministry for public school children,
ages 4 through grade 6, is held on Sunday mornings from 10:00 to 11:15. Its
purpose is to teach religion to children. It is staffed by dedicated catechists
who have a great commitment to providing a quality religious program which will
not only increase the children's understanding of our faith, but foster growth
in their faith life itself. The program gives the children knowledge of
Catholic doctrine, liturgy, morality, practices and traditions.

| Children's Sacramental Preparation |
Reconciliation
Reconciliation (the sacrament of Penance) is to be celebrated
regularly by all, adults and children. Those children who have not yet begun
this practice, and need to get ready for their first celebration of the
sacrament, are invited to a preparation program with their parents.
Eucharist
The First Communion of children is celebrated in May, with family
involvement in the preparation of their children taking place in March and
April. (It is assumed that parents have been seeing to the religious education
of their children through enrollment in the Sunday program or in St. Pius
School.) The preparation program is meant for the faith development of the
children and to deepen the spiritual life of the family itself.

Vacation Bible School |
| For one week during the summer, children who have completed
Kindergarten through Grade 4 are invited to the Vacation Bible School. This is
an experience of learning, activities, games, singing, snacks--all coordinated
around an exciting theme. One year the children will be in long-ago Palestine;
the next year in a jungle; the following year on a desert island. Many
volunteers, parish-wide, contribute to make this experience a realty for the
children.
